The state of Maharashtra has witnessed a significant increase in the buying and selling of properties such as land, flats, and shops. As a result, the state’s treasury has accumulated an impressive stamp duty revenue of ₹38,597.44 crores in the current financial year.
This is an income of ₹6,000 crores more than the government’s targeted revenue. Stamp duty is collected by the state government on the purchase and sale of properties.
IIn the financial year 2020-21, 27.69 squads were registered. A revenue of 25,652 crores was received from it. So, in the financial year 2021-22, 23.84 lakhs squads were registered. A revenue of approximately ₹35,172 crores was collected.
This surge in revenue indicates that Maharashtra’s real estate market is flourishing.
